Institutional Partnerships
The AIO Framework standard is not the output of a single organization. Academic societies, hospitals, law firms, government agencies, and AI operators — institutions with domain expertise come together to agree on domain vocabularies and operate the standard.
Shared operation, a single standard
AIO cannot hold expertise in every domain. Medical vocabulary is best understood by medical societies, legal vocabulary by law societies, and asset-related vocabulary by financial professional bodies. Partnerships are a structure that preserves this expertise in a distributed form while connecting it on top of a single notation standard. Institutional partnerships span the three operating groups (Alignment, Consensus, Faithfulness) at the organization level, distinct from the individual Partner role in the four-role model.
Four types of partnership
Domain vocabulary validation partner
Academic and professional bodies such as endocrinology, psychiatry, and law societies validate and approve domain sub-vocabularies.
Domain operations partner
Pilot AIO Framework-based AI in real-world domains and co-publish case studies.
Public policy partner
Formalize the mapping between AIO Framework and regulatory frameworks such as the EU AI Act and the NIST AI RMF.
Standard implementation partner
Integrate and operate AIO Framework within your own AI and issue the Risk Signal Card.
How partnerships operate
- Non-exclusive — multiple partners can coexist within a single domain.
- Formal recognition — academic authority over an agreed vocabulary remains with the partner institution.
- Low-cost and open — no membership fees or royalties. All outputs are published under CC BY 4.0.
- Separation of intellectual property — a partner's prior knowledge and the AIO standard are kept separate and protected by license.
